Shipping samples and documents to China

DHL Express typically reaches major Chinese cities within a few working days of collection from the UK; we’ll confirm the exact timeframe when you book. Customs into China asks for a commercial invoice, an airway bill and, for some goods, a certificate of origin. Certain product categories need additional certification, import licences, or registration held by your receiver — our team checks this with you at quote stage, since it varies by product and changes from time to time, and we’d rather flag it before you ship than after.

What can’t be sent to China, and duties to expect

We can’t carry dangerous goods, liquids, foodstuffs, weapons, alcohol, flowers or animal products on any of our international lanes, and China applies its own restrictions and licensing on top of that for certain goods. Chinese import duty and tax depend on the product and its declared value; we’ll walk you through the likely cost as part of your quote.
